Heat Stroke

Also known as sun-stroke, is a severe heat illness that results in a body temperature greater than 103°F

Symptoms

Treatment

  • High body temperature (103°F or higher)

  • Hot, red, dry, or damp skin

  • Fast, strong pulse

  • Headache

  • Dizziness

  • Nausea

  • Confusion

  • Losing consciousness (passing out)

  1. Call 911 immediately

  2. Move the person to a cooler place

  3. Help lower the person’s temperature with a cool cloth or bath

    1. If a person is passed out, do NOT put them in a bath​

  4. Do NOT give the person anything to drink
